This project is Phase I of II! This conventionally framed garage/shop with a full one bedroom apartment with office sets the stage for more to come. The overall dimensions of the structure is 29′x46′. The first floor level is comprised of a 24′x25′ two car garage, a 22′x29′ shop area and utility space. The second floor has a 24′x29′ open great room, a full bath, laundry room, one 12′x22′ bedroom, storage room and a 10′x15′ office. The building was designed to easily attach the full house at a later date. The exterior is covered with pre-stained white cedar shingles and trimmed with white Kleer composite trim for a no maintenance finish. The garage and apartment are heated by in-floor radiant tubing with a direct-vent energy efficient propane boiler. The interior will be finished with Ipe wood flooring, cherry cabinetry, and pre-finished edge & center bead pine on the ceilings. The client refers to their new building as the ‘Garage Mahal’. It sure is!
